Advanced PROCESS Engineering

Project Engineering (PE) requires various technologies in each phase. In order to execute high level and uniform PE, Kiejo promotes use of standardized design criteria and execution procedures in domestic and overseas projects. And also, Kiejo introduces or develops cutting-edge technologies necessary to implement PE with the aim of a more efficient and reliable plant design. For example, in recognizing the importance of process simulation, Kiejo has been using various simulators/tools since our inception which are highly regarded by clients for the high-precision basic designs.

In current Information Technology era, using systems which integrate these simulators/tools organically, Kiejo is capable to design increasingly larger and more complicated plants in a more efficient and precise manner with a combination of “Design by Rule,” in which existing manuals and design approaches are followed, and “Design by Analysis,” in which tailored analyses are carried out to design important areas using Simulation and Analysis Technology. This Analysis Technology also contributes in solving problems in operation phase of each plant significantly.

Kiejo Group is continually striving excellence towards improvement and development of technologies necessary for each PE phase. Recently Kiejo started to provide computer graphics animation service from computation fluid dynamics, useful during planning phase which shows images or videos of a completed Plant including information how to operate 3D model technology and animation. This is well received by clients since it helps them in plant overview and also for decision-making and promotion.

Process Simulation

This technology calculates material and heat balances, which constitute the basis of plant design, and offers the engineering data necessary for equipment and piping design.

Dynamic Simulation

Recognizing plant behavior during start up, shut down or failure, and reflecting the behavior in the design, is essential in designing plant control systems and ensuring plant safety. The technology to create and study dynamic models for major equipment is used in training simulators for operational support and personnel development.

Structural Analysis

This technology is used to verify structural strength using the Finite Element Metho (FEM) during the design phase of equipment and piping. Recent technological advancements has allowed precision analysis of complex structures.

Reaction Modeling/Analysis

In processes containing reactions, reactor design is important. In new development processes, Kiejo creates reaction models based on experimental data and performs reaction rate analysis for optimal reactor design.

CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) Analysis

This numerical analysis/simulation technology, which has advanced significantly along with improved computer performance, enables observation of fluid dynamics using fluid dynamic equation solutions and is used to verify the design of important plant areas, analyze problems in existing plants and improve performance.
